Coordination project

In a large international and interdisciplinary collaborative project such as CAME the need arises to support the joint projects - which act as thematic columns - by a multidisciplinary integrative coordination project at the administrative and logistical level. Because the program is linked with other coordinated research initiatives and bilateral research projects with partners in Central Asia and also successful research activity in logistically difficult environment is required, coordination becomes important. Following the objective of generating optimal synergy, the coordination tasks encompass all areas of scientific organization, particularly the communication with the participating German and international research groups, the preparation and implementation of scientific meetings and workshops, as well as field campaigns and visits of scientific partners from abroad, support young scientists, financial management, establishing and operating a website for public information, as well as internal communications and public relations.

Summarized, the main tasks of the coordination project are:

- the integration of the participating national and international research groups,
- providing support concerning general and administrative questions,
- establishment and maintenance of the necessary infrastructure for several projects,
- and investing in public relations.
